The calculator
Check it yourself
To check any result, divide the monthly cost by your profit per job on a phone calculator. The table does it for our four plans at the lowest ad spend we require, $1,500 per channel a month; below that, we are not the right fit. Job counts use monthly cost only, setup fee not included. The last line under each plan shows the fees and setup owed over its minimum term, without ad spend, which is paid to the ad platform.
| Plan and monthly cost | $250 profit per job | $500 profit per job | $1,000 profit per job | $2,500 profit per job |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SEO + GEO: $2,000 a month$2,000 fee, no ad spendFees and setup over 3 months: $7,000 ($1,000 setup + 3 × $2,000) | 8 jobs | 4 jobs | 2 jobs | 0.8 jobs |
| ChatGPT Ads: $3,500 a month$2,000 fee + $1,500 ad spendFees and setup over 3 months: $6,000 (3 × $2,000, no setup fee listed) | 14 jobs | 7 jobs | 3.5 jobs | 1.4 jobs |
| Google Ads alone: $5,500 a month$4,000 fee + $1,500 ad spendFees and setup over 3 months: $13,000 ($1,000 setup + 3 × $4,000) | 22 jobs | 11 jobs | 5.5 jobs | 2.2 jobs |
| Google + Meta Ads: $9,000 a month$6,000 fee + $3,000 ad spendFees and setup over 3 months: $20,000 ($2,000 setup + 3 × $6,000) | 36 jobs | 18 jobs | 9 jobs | 3.6 jobs |
How it decides
If you leave an optional field blank, the line that needs it does not appear.
| Figure | How it is worked out | Shown when |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly cost | Monthly fee + monthly ad spend. | Always |
| Extra jobs to break even | Monthly cost ÷ profit per job. The headline shows one decimal, the working shows up to two, and the whole-job figure rounds up. | Always |
| Committed before you can leave | Setup fee + (monthly fee + ad spend you must commit to) × months you must pay. | Always |
| Ad spend and the committed figure | Ad spend is in the committed figure only when you type it as ad spend you must commit to, and that cannot be more than the monthly ad spend. For our plans the field stays blank: ad spend is paid to the ad platform, not to us. | Always |
| Leads needed | Monthly cost ÷ profit per job (not rounded first) ÷ share of leads that become jobs, then rounded up. The working line prints these three figures. | You gave the share of leads that become jobs |
| Share of today's jobs | Monthly cost ÷ profit per job (not rounded first) ÷ jobs you complete a month today, to the nearest whole percent. It prints 100% only when break-even is at least your jobs today, so 99.5% prints as 99%. At 100% or more, the quote has to at least double your jobs. | You gave jobs today |
| Paid before results start | Setup fee + monthly cost × months until results start. Monthly cost includes ad spend, so this is cash out, not the committed figure. Flagged when the months until results are at least the months you must pay. | You gave months until results |
| Net, and months to earn back | Net = extra jobs × profit per job − monthly cost. Months to earn back = paid before results start ÷ net, rounded up. A net of $0 never earns it back. | You gave extra jobs you expect, and for earn-back also months until results |
| Ad spend minimum | Flags ad spend below the lowest we require for the plan you picked. That is $1,500 per channel a month, so $3,000 for Google + Meta Ads, and $1,500 for ChatGPT Ads. | You picked one of our plans and its fee is unchanged |
| Headline | If you gave extra jobs: covers when net is $0 or more, short when it is below. Otherwise, if break-even is at or above your jobs today: needs at least as many extra jobs as today. Otherwise: the break-even figure alone. | Always |
| Valid amounts | Monthly fee, ad spend, setup fee and committed ad spend: $0 up to $1,000,000. Profit per job: above $0, up to $1,000,000. Fee and ad spend cannot both be $0. | Always |
| Valid counts | Months you must pay: a whole number from 1 to 60. Months until results: a whole number from 0 to 60. Jobs today: above 0, up to 1,000. Extra jobs you expect: 0 up to 1,000. Leads that become jobs: above 0 percent, up to 100 percent. | For each field you fill in |
| What you can type | The characters $, % and spaces are dropped, so "1 5" reads as 15. A comma counts only as a thousands separator, so "2,000" reads as 2000 and "7,5" is rejected. | Always |
| Invalid input | A blank monthly fee, months or profit per job, a negative or non-numeric entry, or a value outside these limits shows one message per field and no result. | Always |
What it cannot tell you
| Not covered | What to do about it |
|---|---|
| Whether any provider will bring one extra job. | The result is a hurdle, not a forecast. Google's guidance on interviewing an SEO says to ask what results to expect, in what timeframe, and how success is measured. |
| Which jobs are extra. | Referrals and repeat customers you would have won anyway are not extra. If your work is seasonal, compare the same months of last year. Agree in writing who counts the jobs, and how. |
| Repeat customers. | One job's profit is counted. If a new customer usually books again, add the profit of the return jobs you can count on before you type it. |
| The setup fee. | The monthly figure leaves out the setup fee. To cover the whole minimum term, divide the amount committed before you can leave by your profit per job. SEO + GEO at $500 profit per job: 4 jobs a month for 3 months earns $6,000, which is $1,000 short of the $7,000 minimum. |
| When extra jobs start. | The monthly figure assumes extra jobs start in month 1. If the provider quotes months until results, type them and the card shows what you will have paid before results are due. |
| What a lead costs in your trade, and whether a budget can judge results. | You type those numbers. See lead cost benchmarks for home services and the ad budget checker. |
| Whether SEO suits your business. | Break-even is a hurdle, not a fit check. The SEO cost calculator asks six questions to check whether our plan fits. |

|---|---|---|---|
| Montrelia pricing | SEO + GEO $2,000 a month plus $1,000 setup. Google Ads or Meta Ads alone $4,000 a month plus $1,000 setup; both $6,000 plus $2,000 setup. ChatGPT Ads $2,000 a month. Minimum term 3 months. Minimum ad spend $1,500 per channel a month. Ad spend is paid to the ad platforms directly. The ChatGPT Ads preset leaves setup blank because the pricing page lists none. | Pricing page read October 6, 2026. | Montrelia, which sells these services. |
| Google Search Central, Do you need an SEO? | Suggests asking an SEO what results to expect, in what timeframe, and how success is measured. Says to find someone else if they guarantee first place. | Page updated June 5, 2026. Read October 6, 2026. | Google. It publishes search guidance and sells Google Ads, not SEO services. |
| You | Profit per job, jobs today, share of leads that become jobs, months until results, extra jobs you expect, and any ad spend your contract makes you pay. No benchmark or average is built in. | Typed by you | You. Nothing you type leaves your browser, and analytics receives only the headline name. |
Questions people ask
What counts as profit per job?
Use the price of one job minus the costs that rise with it: materials, helpers you pay, fuel and subcontractors. Leave out rent and software you pay either way. If an extra job would make you hire help or turn other work away, count that cost too.
Does Montrelia promise extra jobs, and how do I count them?
No. We do not promise a ranking, a number of leads or a return on ad spend. To count extra jobs, ask any provider for a tracking phone number and a form that records each enquiry's source, in an account you can open yourself. Count a job as extra only when it matches a recorded enquiry in your own job records.
What happens after the minimum term?
Our plans run month-to-month after the 3-month minimum, so the committed figure covers the minimum term only. With another provider, check whether the contract renews on its own and how much notice it needs before you type its months.
