What you keep when you leave an agency.

On October 6, 2026, USA Marketing Pros said Google Ads campaigns stay in its account if you leave, and Blue Veil said the website stays its property if you cancel. Before you sign, get the account owner's name and the total over the minimum term in writing.

Who holds your ad campaigns

If an agency runs your Google Ads, or is about to, the first question is whose account holds the campaigns. Of the 4 ad providers below, USA Marketing Pros says your campaigns stay in its own account if you leave. WebFX says you keep admin and owner access. Third Marble and Online Optimism state no account ownership rule on their pricing pages. Fees for USA Marketing Pros, WebFX and Third Marble are on the ad management fee calculator.

What you keep with Montrelia

Montrelia sells the plans below, so weigh this section accordingly. Our standard: you own all 7: Google Ads, Meta Business Manager, GA4, Search Console, Google Business Profile, your domain, your site code. You keep them if we stop working together. Hosting and domain renewal sit in your own accounts and you pay for them. We set them up. You pay the ad platforms directly. We manage the spend and never hold your money.

Montrelia fees for the 3-month minimum, setup fee plus monthly fee times months, before ad spend
PlanTotal for the 3-month minimumThe sum
SEO + GEO$7,000$1,000 setup + 3 x $2,000 = $7,000
Google Ads alone$13,000$1,000 setup + 3 x $4,000 = $13,000
Google Ads and Meta Ads$20,000$2,000 setup + 3 x $6,000 = $20,000
Website$2,000One time, up to 10 pages. See the pricing page.

Decide by your situation

  • If your campaigns run in the agency's account, leaving means rebuilding them. Ask which login owns each account before you sign, using the account check and our guide to Google Ads account ownership.
  • If your site is rented, price the exit as the monthly fee x the months left in the minimum, plus any fee to move the files. The website cost over three years tool adds hosting and domain costs.
  • If you are comparing minimum terms, add the setup fee to the monthly fee x the minimum months, leave ad spend out, then add the notice period. Example with placeholder names: Agency A charges no setup fee and 6 x $1,500 = $9,000. Agency B charges $900 + 3 x $2,500 = $8,400. Agency A's lower monthly price costs $600 more to leave. See SEO guarantees and minimum terms.
  • If you want one business day's notice and run only Google Ads, Third Marble lists month-to-month service with one business day's notice (read October 6, 2026). Our minimum is 3 months, so Third Marble fits better on that point. Other mismatches are on who we are not for.
  • If a provider registered your domain and you want it at another registrar, ask for the transfer code first and change the registrant name after. ICANN's Transfer Policy starts a 60-day transfer lock after a change of registrant, unless you opted out of the lock beforehand where the registrar allows it.

What these numbers cannot tell you

  • They come from public web pages, not contracts. Third Marble's terms page adds conditions on cancelling and on returning materials that its pricing page does not mention. A signed agreement can say more than any figure here.
  • The 7 providers are the pages we could read on October 6, 2026, not a sample of the market. Prices and terms change without notice.
  • We tested no exit and have seen no client's contract.
  • This is not legal advice.

Questions people ask

Can a registrar refuse to move a domain that is only a few weeks old?

It may. ICANN's Transfer Policy lets a registrar deny a transfer requested within 60 days of the domain's creation date, or within 60 days after an earlier transfer between registrars. The policy binds registrars of generic domains such as .com; check your registrar for other endings. Plan the move for after day 60.

What happens if I miss a payment?

It depends on the terms. Blue Veil's FAQ gives a 7-day grace period, then a $25 late fee, and says multiple missed payments may end the contract with the remaining balance due immediately. WebEaze's terms may charge 1.5% interest a month and may suspend or terminate after written notice and 5 business days to pay. Cancel as the contract says instead of withholding payment.

Do I get a refund for the month I leave in?

For the three providers whose refund terms we read, refunds are not automatic. WebEaze's terms call all fees final and non-refundable, including unused subscription time and early cancellation. Third Marble's terms leave refunds to its discretion and say they may be credit for its own services. Blue Veil refunds the initial payment if you are not satisfied in the design phase; after development starts, refunds are at its discretion.
